Social Login

Google Login allows your customers to quickly sign in to your app using their Google account, without needing to create a new username or password. To enable this, you’ll need to configure both Firebase and your StoreHippo Seller Admin Panel.

Set Up Google Login in Firebase

1. Create or Open a Firebase Project

  • Log in to the Firebase Console.
  • If you don’t already have a project, create one.
  • While setting up the app in Firebase, make sure you add the SHA-1 fingerprint of your Android app.

NOTE: You can build the app without uploading Android signing keys. In that case, the app will be signed with Storehippo default key. When you use the Storehippo inbuilt Android build, then the SHA-1 key for your app will be 15:27:AE:98:AA:0F:93:05:4F:6A:1E:F1:99:1E:88:D9:33:29:AA:AE

2. Enable Google Sign-In

  • Go to Authentication in Firebase.
  • Open the Sign-in Methods tab.
  • Find Google and toggle it ON.

3. Copy Web Client ID

  • After enabling Google Sign-In, scroll down and click on Web SDK Configuration.
  • Copy the Web Client ID shown there — you’ll need it for Storehippo setup.

4. Download Updated Firebase Files

  • Once Google Sign-In is enabled, download the updated google-services.json (for Android).
  • Keep this file ready to upload in the Storehippo Admin Panel.

Configure Google Login in Storehippo Admin Panel

1. Log in to Seller Admin Panel

  • Go to your Storehippo Seller Dashboard.
  • Navigate to Mobile Apps.

2. Select or Create Your App

  • If you already have an app, click Edit.
  • If you’re creating a new one, click Add New.

3. Go to Social Login Settings

  • In the Social Login section, paste the Web Client ID you copied from Firebase into the Google field.

4. Upload Firebase File

  • In the Google Services Settings field, upload the latest google-services.json file you downloaded.

5. Save and Rebuild App

  • Click Save.
  • Then click Rebuild to apply the changes and generate the updated app build.

Test Google Login

  1. Install the Rebuilt App on your mobile device.
  2. On the login screen, tap Continue with Google.
  3. Select your Google account to log in.

If the setup is correct, you’ll be logged in instantly with your Google account.

Note: Ensure the “Login using Firebase” option is enabled in your Storehippo app settings, otherwise Google login won’t work.

That’s it! Your Android app now supports Google Login, making sign-in seamless for your customers.
